In Hold'em game in many occasions the player needs to get a card on the flop turn, or river, in order to build a good hand or to continue with the planned strategy. An example that can serve at this point is that maybe you need to know the probability that the club appears in the river for a flush.

There is a way of calculating the probability of cards available to obtain the card that you need, however to achieve this it is necessary to take into account two things. The first thing is to know how many chances you have and the cards that are available.

I'll make a parenthesis here to mention the outs. What are outs? Well, Outs is the number of cards that will make your hand a winning hand. You need to know the remaining cards that can help you to win, for example, If you are looking for a flush on the river there are nine cards that can help you. These cards are: 13 clubs in a deck, 4 clubs in your hand or on the board, this gives as a result 9 clubs remaining.

The second thing that you need to know is the number of cards that have not yet been seen. If you have two cards in your hand and there are four cards on the table, there are 46 cards.

Let me explain it more: 52-2 = 50 followed by 50-4 = 46

As you can see to calculate how many cards are available what you should do is an exercise of simple subtraction. So, there are 9 cards that can help and this number is divided among 46 remaining cards, this leaves a total of 19.6%. This is how it's done and although at first may seem a bit complicated is an easy technique.

Once the player knows this technique and knows how to make the respective calculations what remains are some important facts to consider for next calculations, and so to make the calculations by himself.

For example, what is sought is to have a flush if you are holding a four-cards flush the odds of obtain the fifth card on the turn is 19.1% The odds to get it on the river are 19.6%.

Remember, to obtain a flush is needed to have five cards of the same color (suit) not necessarily consecutive value cards.
