Within the various poker hand rankings that exist, the flush one of the most difficult hands to achieve, and one of those who are strongest in the game.Flush, is one hand in which the player has five cards, not necessarily consecutive, in the same suit (hearts, diamonds, clubs and spades.) This hand is positioned on number five on the scale of values of the classification of poker hands, and the probability that a player obtain this type of hand it is one in 508.80.
In poker, when all bets are completed, players who have not withdrawn the game show their cards, and is declared the winner the one with the highest hand.But what are the hands with more value? what happens if 2 players have a flush?
In case that 2 players have flushes, the hands will be compared as if they were high card hands, and to determine the winner the highest ranking card will be the winner. If both hands have the same highest card, the next step to follow will be to compare the second-highest ranking card, this will be repeated until a difference is found. In some situations the two flushes could contain the same five ranks of cards, so, to resolve this, will be declared a tied, and the pot will be split.
Besides the original flush that we have been speaking, there are 2 other versions of flush that are even more difficult to obtain for a player, but have a higher value, and a more privileged position in the rankings of poker hands.
One of the flushes is the Straight flush. This hand is composed by 5 cards of sequential rank, like: Q♣ J♣ 10♣ 9♣ 8♣, but all the cards must necessarily be from the same suit.
The other flush hand is called Royal flush, and is a hand formed by 5 sequence cards from the same suit, but this hand is characterized by has an ace as a high card. example: A♦ K♦ Q♦ J♦ 10♦
